Uptown AAU is proud to be an official Made Hoops Circuit team. This designation places our high school teams on the nation’s premier independent basketball circuit. Made Hoops is recognized as a leading name in youth and high school basketball!
Each year, our top 15u, 16u, and 17u teams compete on the circuit, showcasing their skills in front of hundreds of college coaches. Every tournament we attend is packed with Made Scouts and live-streamed, ensuring exposure to coaches across the country.

Shawn Werdt
With nearly 20 years of coaching experience at both the High School and NCAA levels, Shawn is committed to helping athletes reach their highest potential. In addition to being a proven High School Head Coach, Shawn also served as an assistant coach at Philadelphia University for five seasons, under the legendary Herb Magee. Throughout his career, Shawn has trained and coached dozens of international professionals as well as countless NCAA DI, DII, and DIII athletes. Some clients have gone on to attend some of the top universities in the country, including the University of Maryland, Colgate, Lafayette, and Duke.

Dom Davenport
Coach Dom has over a decade of coaching at all levels including High School & and AAU basketball experience, making him a highly experienced and well-versed basketball trainer. He has a proven track record of success in individual instruction and has trained players at all levels, including the NCAA and Professional levels.
Coach Dom offers a personalized approach to basketball training, focusing on skill enhancement, mental resilience, and life skills vital for well-rounded athlete development.
Dom's passion for teaching the game of basketball and focus on player development makes him an invaluable asset to our basketball family at Uptown

Peter Gard
After a successful career at Germantown Friends, Peter Gard went on to have a 5 year career at Widener University that was capped off with a conference championship win and an NCAA Tournament appearance in 2023.
Beyond his vast experience as a player, Peter has multiple years of experience coaching at camps and clinics. Peter is excited to help players become better on and off the court by bringing both his knowledge of the game, and experiences as a recent collegiate basketball player.
17U MADE HOOPS CIRCUIT Head Coach
Tim Clement
Tim Clement has been an avid follower of high school basketball in Southeastern Pennsylvania for over 20 years.
Tim attended Radnor High School, where he helped the basketball team to PIAA District 1 AAA playoff appearances in 2007 and 2008 and served as a captain his senior year.
He returned to Radnor as a coach in 2012 and spent 2 years assisting the junior varsity and varsity basketball teams. While at Radnor, Tim led scouting efforts, assisted with practice and game plan execution, and spearheaded the program’s offseason development program, developing and leading individual and group workouts and serving as the head coach of the junior varsity and varsity club teams.
While on Radnor’s coaching staff, Tim also served as co-director of the Raider Basketball Club, an area feeder program designed to identify and develop future members of the basketball program
14U MADE HOOPS East Circuit Head Coach
John Goodman
Coach John Goodman has 15+ years of experience as a high school coach in Chester County. Most recently as the head coach at Downingtown East for nine seasons from 2011-2021. During his tenure, the school made the District Playoffs seven times, which are the only playoff appearances in school history. This includes two trips to the PIAA 6A state tournament in 2018 and 2019.
During his playing career, Goodman was a 1,000-point scorer at Kennett Square High School and led the team to a PIAA District 1 Championship in 2000. He ended his playing career at James Madison University from 2003-2005.
A self-described basketball junkie, Coach Goodman has been involved in camps and youth coaching ever since college. He loves to see his players compete to the best of their abilities and foster meaningful relationships through basketball.
Coach Goodman resides in Downingtown with his wife and three children.

Allen Rubin is a highly respected basketball evaluator and scout from Southeast Pennsylvania, known for his deep knowledge of the game and significant contributions to the Philadelphia basketball community. Over the years, Rubin has built a stellar reputation for identifying talent and helping thousands of young athletes secure opportunities to play college basketball.
A proud member of the Philadelphia Jewish Sports Hall of Fame, Rubin has been recognized for his profound impact on basketball in the region. His dedication to the game, coupled with his commitment to supporting young athletes and fostering community connections, has cemented his legacy in the Philadelphia basketball landscape.
